Find a Tradesperson: how customers find you, and how the matching works
Customers tell us what they need and where they are. We match them by trade and postcode area to up to 3 local businesses, and the enquiry lands in your leads list straight away.
Most of this blog is about what TradeCRM does once an enquiry lands. This post is about a source of enquiries you don't have to lift a finger for: the Find a Tradesperson page.
What the customer sees
A homeowner who needs a job done tells us what they need and where they are. That's all. There's no trawling through a directory of 200 businesses and no ringing round. We pass the enquiry straight to local tradespeople who can help.
- It's matched by trade and the customer's postcode area.
- It goes to up to 3 local businesses, so the customer isn't flooded with calls, and you're never one of a crowd.
- Businesses get the enquiry straight away.
What you see
If you've chosen that trade and area in Settings, the enquiry appears in your leads list like any other. It's scored and summarised, and a reply is drafted for you to approve (see lead scoring and AI replies). Because only up to three businesses get it, speed matters: the first helpful reply tends to win.
Getting set up to receive them
- Open the marketplace settings in TradeCRM.
- Pick the trades you do.
- Pick the postcode areas you cover.
The same form can also be embedded on other sites, so enquiries can come from more than one place. There's no bidding and no listing fee. The directory is currently free for everyone.
In real life
A customer in SW12 asks for a plumber about a leaking radiator. It goes to you and two other local plumbers. You see it on your phone within moments, approve the drafted reply, and you're the first to answer.
The short version
- Customers say what they need and where, with no directory to browse.
- Matched by trade and postcode area to up to 3 businesses.
- Set your trades and areas once in Settings. Currently free.
